About two weeks ago, I had a birthday event and the design for the layout was Little Prince simple and elegant because it was a semi-formal event. And the attention was on the birthday boy who turned one year old as he was the Little Prince for the night wearing his blue and gold crown. I mean this boy never stopped smiling for the cameras!
I created a mini-sized kingdom with the draw bridge and a crown made from cardboard and hand painted the details to give that posh look with sparkling jewels and gold and blue glitter to add the royalty touch. And created a table with all the art crafts where the guest could place the gifts but I needed another table because the gifts kept stacking away! I am sure he will be happy when he sees all the gifts that he received.
We created a background that had two jumbo balloons that were both number ones. One was blue and the other was gold followed by blue, white, and gold balloons underneath it. The balloons were placed in black urns and set to the sides of the mahogany love seat to give that prince royalty impression for the little man. And the ceiling was filled with blue, white, and gold star balloons. The sky was the heaven for these kids.
The centerpieces where decorated with a cake holder about 14inches round on alternating blue and white table covers and centered with a black lantern and surrounding that was cupcakes! We had created blue and white theme cupcakes with sprinkles on top. The kids ate the cupcakes pretty fast but then I don't know if that mixed so well when you have bunch of energized kids on sugar running around the place and next thing you see balloons are being tackled down from the stage and the chair used as a ladder! We want everyone to have fun it's a birthday party but also be safe and I encourage parents to look after their kids we don't want anyone getting hurt.
Currently I am working with another experienced photographer who has been in the business for several years and wanted to see what unique colors and styles he can bring out to the table. So, I am waiting for the results and when I get them I will post them up on kposhdesigns.com site and facebook.
